Infrastructure Director - Pakistan Schools Construction and Rehabilitation - 2015



IMC Worldwide is seeking to identify a highly experienced Infrastructure Director for a DFID funded Schools Construction and Rehabilitation project we are implementing in Pakistan. This is a complex programme, supporting the rehabilitation and upgrading of existing education infrastructure, including those destroyed or at risk from natural disasters or affected by conflict. The primary objective is to provide missing facilities and upgrade schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. This is expected to help improve educational outcomes in both provinces by providing missing facilities and upgrading additional schools through the provision of additional classrooms and improved facilities, including water and sanitation systems, secure boundary/perimeter walls, electricity connection and school furniture and equipment.


The Infrastructure Director will report to the Team Leader and will be responsible for managing the infrastructure department including coordinating, reporting and isolating any important issues for further consideration by senior management. The infrastructure department includes the management of surveying, design, procurement, contract management and construction supervision.


The ideal candidate will:


  • Be a qualified Civil Engineer.

  • Have a minimum of 15 years progressively responsible experience in programme management of large infrastructure projects, procurement, contract management, construction supervision or a related field.

  • Have extensive experience in undertaking and managing works procurement including issuing tender invitations, evaluating bids and the development and preparing contracts for the procurement of works.

  • Preferably have previous experience working in Pakistan or the region.

This is a 3 year long term position with a start date as soon as possible
