Purpose of the Assignment
To assist the nutrition team in initiating key tasks that will require significant negotiations and consultations with a variety of internal and external stakeholder including finalizing an intra UNICEF stunting reduction strategy as well as an inter-Agency Strategy that takes into account the various skill sets and niches of each group as well as assisting in any SDG consultations that will take place during the course of the consultancy.
Assignment Tasks
- Review current drafts and progress on various activities outlined below and develop work plan with timeline
- Finalize intra agency multisector stunting reduction strategy including relevant inputs from Child Protection, WASH, Health – in particular Saving New-born Lives and Diarrhoea/Pneumonia Reduction Programs, and Education.
- Hold consultations with other agencies for multisector inter-agency stunting reduction strategy
- Technical support as well as Support to Sindh and KP provinces in monitoring donor programs such as ECHO and USAID programs, ensuring monitoring frameworks are in place and periodic analysis of issues takes place
- Support Chief of Nutrition as OIC for key events and meetings
Expected Deliverables
- Work plan with timelines for all deliverables finalized and approved
- Final draft of intra-agency strategy
- Working draft of intra-agency stunting reduction strategy completed.
- At least two rounds on discussions held with key agencies including FAO,
- Monthly report on program progress
- Monitoring reports monthly
- Detailed notes on discussion and actions for follow up.
Qualifications of Successful Candidate
Education & Years of relevant experience
Master Level in Nutrition of Public Health with 10 years experience in senior positions
Experience in developing strategies
Experience in working with multiple stakeholders
Competencies of Successful Candidate
Duration: 215 days
Ability to negotiate and find consensus among agencies, partners and key who can have competing agendas and interests. Requires superior writing skills and analytical skills.
