Community Mobilizer

Relevant Experience:

 1 year

Job Description:

Participates in need assessments, Participatory Rural Appraisals, feasibility studies, stakeholder analyses and community consultations;Liaises with Governmental and non Governmental Agencies.Supports the development of agreements and MoUs with community based organizations or other civil society groups.Elaborate all needs based inputs and all other activities according to the objectives of the programme and the beneficiary involvement strategy of ACTED.Mobilizes the community in the effective use of the community resources.Mobilize communities for the prioritizing of recovery activities and strategies.Facilitates the capacity building and setup of representative community committees (steering committees).Identifies unskilled and skilled Cash For Work beneficiaries in close cooperation with the steering committee.Ensure, through daily dialogues and consultations that the strategy of the projects and the commitments of the various stakeholders are adhered to.Responsible for mainstreaming genderMaximize beneficiary contribution.Participate in NFI distributions whenever required.Supports in the development of IEC materials for all activities implemented.The Community Mobilizers should develop in-depth knowledge of all their villages of intervention and should have close contacts with community leaders, volunteers, and activists.Support and supervise daily skilled and unskilled workers / project volunteers and give them useful instruction regarding their work improvement, through coordination with the relevant skilled staff;Providing technical guidance, training and support to individuals targeted by each project in line with the program strategy and intended output[s];Ensure on time completion of the tasks in line with BoQs and designs;Liaising with program staff of other ACTED teams to ensure that information is shared and that lessons learned are developed.Supervise the unloading of the material on site as well as quality and quantity of the items.DocumentationFill, Check & control daily Workers attendance sheet on daily basis;Ensure construction logbook and other documentation requested by the line manager is correctly completed.Control that construction materials and tools are used properly, and complete waybills to accompany any movement of stock/tools between locations in the field / between the base and field.

Social Mobilizer

Relevant Experience:

 At least two to five years of of experience in the same capacity. 

Job Description:

Lead the social mobilization in the target area and facilitate the targeted community to get organized.Identify, verify and register potential project beneficiaries.Keep record of community groups, activities and beneficiaries.Keep close coordination with community groups.Build and develop the capacities of members of community groups in a participatory manner.Develop human-interest stories and case studies.Provide support and assistance to Project Manager in order to plan, design, implement and monitor project activities/interventions according to the goal and objectives of program/project.Keep records regarding committees’, meetings, agreements, assessments, attendance sheets etc at office levelParticipate in weekly/monthly review meetings and prepare daily/monthly/ annual work plans.Provide suggestions and inputs based on experience at field level for improvement in program on regular basis.Participate in training workshops and transfer of knowledge to the other staff members and community groups.Ensure compliance with organizational policies, rules and regulations with respect to the project activities.Orient the beneficiaries and members of community groups in accordance with project objectives and work plan.Facilitate the official field visits as and when neededPerform any other related duty/duties assigned by the project manager.

Social Mobilizer- Health

Job Description • Assist in the implementation of Health program in a manner that promotes gender equality, democratic decision-making and is all inclusive. • To identify target communities and mobilize community groups. • To establish new contacts with communities. • Assist in raising awareness on emergency preparedness. • To spread awareness, facilitate communities and conduct meetings with community members including children, parents and teachers. • To liaise and work with community groups and projects to ensure accountability and best use of project resources. • Actively support Health Coordinator in smooth implementation of sectoral initiatives. • Report sector progress on a weekly basis. Requirements • Graduate degree. • Demonstrated 2 to 3 years of overall experience; and a minimum of 1 year of specific development sector experience • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Computer literate • Understanding of regional language(s) and context • Demonstrated ability to work in insecure environments • Ability and willingness to travel

Community Mobilizer

Job Description • Assist in the development of emergency and rehabilitation education program. • Carry out school assessments. • Assist in planning and implementing of distributions of educational items. • Assist in the evaluation of the Emergency Education Program. • Coordinate with other team members including the Education Advisor and with other SC teams. • Initiate written and verbal progress reports within the team and across sectors. • Conduct meetings with community including children, parents and teacher to create program awareness. • Undertake any other tasks assigned by line manager. • Requirements • Graduation in any discipline • 2-3 years experience or 2 years experience in development sector • Excellent communication skills • Knowledge of MS Office • Team player
