S&P Global Market Intelligence’s Islamabad newsroom is looking to hire Newswriters/Reporters to cover business news online in sectors critical to the global economy.

What we are looking for in applicants:

Our News team seeks to test the mettle (literally!) of talented and driven self-starters, both fresh and experienced, who can demonstrate:

• Excellent written and spoken English language skills, especially a superior command of grammar


• Definitely apply if you aced your IELTS or TOEFL exam. And members of the grammar police are welcome anytime!


• Strong comprehension, analytical and research skills


• If you understood Ulysses and can find a needle in a haystack, you’re our kind of person


• A penchant for reading and writing


• Bookworms preferred


• Ability to summarize/paraphrase lengthy texts


• Reversing the old adage to: Making a molehill out of a mountain


• Keen interest in journalism


• If you still subscribe to a newspaper, such as Dawn, and watch Bloomberg TV or CNBC, you might be perfect for us


• Knack for tracking financial news in the fast-moving corporate world


• Fire up your Google-fu! Keeping track of how much Kim Kardashian’s app makes doesn’t count

Key Responsibilities:

• Writing news briefs based on press releases, regulatory filings and other sources


• Creating original content by covering live conference calls and conducting interviews with executives and analysts


• Gathering newsworthy leads pertaining to your assigned industry


• Aggregating stories for regular wrap features


• Completing other assignments or projects, as assigned

What sort of work experience would help? 

Experience in writing news articles would give you an edge, but eagerness to learn new things and being an effective team player are vital.

What shift you would work in: 

We need Newswriters in day, evening and night shifts.
