Livelihoods Officer (UNDP) | ReliefWeb - 2015



Organizational Context


The Early Recovery Preparedness & Response Project initiated in 2013 and seeks to improve recovery preparedness and response at all levels both internally within the UNDP Country Office, through the Community Restoration Cluster which is led by UNDP and also in support of Government and civil society counterparts.


In terms of response, the project is currently responding to both the large-scale displacement situation in KP/FATA and the floods emergency. In addition to providing technical assistance to the relevant Government authorities for the recovery assessment and frameworks in both of these situations, the project has also launched a community resilience component in the host communities of Bannu, FR Bannu, Lakki Marwat and DI Khan in order to increase the resilience of both the IDPs and the host communities.


Under the overall guidance of the Project Manager & National Project Coordinator of the Early Recovery Preparedness & Response Project, the Livelihoods officer will provide substantive support to enhance the national and local capabilities in planning and designing livelihood interventions in a post conflict, recovery and rehabilitation climates. He/She will also be responsible to support UNDP’s capacity in the area of livelihood creation, building and development for male and female members of the society, in a post conflict and conflict zones.
