Job Purpose


Responsible for day-to-day assisting the finance unit in accounting functions for SFCG Pakistan and comply with the SFCG financial guidelines and reporting to the management.


Scope of the Role


Reporting to the Finance and Grants Coordinator, Senior Accounts Officer has day to day responsibility for maintaining accurate financial records, producing standard reports and ensuring that all transactions are correctly coded.


Key Responsiblities


Accurate Accounting and Reporting


  • Prepare financial statements

  • Prepare Financial Reports for donors

  • Review financial documents submitted by the program staff and keep auditable documents

  • Monitor account payables/receivables and provide monthly feedback

  • General Ledger reconciliation and analysis

  • Ensure submission of accurate and timely monthly reports to the headquarters, ensuring the HQ ledger matches SFCG Pakistan Books of accounts

  • Produce accurate and timely monthly financial report.

  • Review and provide input for all kind of procurement of goods and services contracts, initiate and fulfill payments, and assume responsibility for creditors and debtors.

  • Ensure Compliance with statutory matters like FBR, SECP

  • Process staff request for reimbursement and advances for payment weekly, or more often if necessary

Audit and Compliance of SFCG Pakistan


  • Facilitate external audits and spot checks

Cash Management


  • Cash, Management, petty cash, maintenance of optimal bank balance, monitoring of the interest level, bank reconciliation, monitoring currency gain / loss and draft correspondence with bank

  • Monitor funds to ensure reliability of disbursements

  • Ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts, advances and partner accounts

  • Maintain correspondence with local bank and vendors for operational matters

  • Produce a listing of pending payments for the Accounting Manager’s approval on a weekly basis.

  • Maintain records for employee advances, ensuring that all money advanced is properly accounted for with appropriate supporting documentation for recording the expense, or cash is returned, as appropriate
