OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME:


The goal of WHO’s presence in countries, territories and areas is to develop a two-way collaboration between the Secretariat and countries, territories and areas, by supporting them to reach national health goals and contribute to global and regional public health action. WHO utilizes the Country Cooperation Strategy (CCS), a key element of the Country Focus strategy, as a strategic management tool to create synergy and alignment between WHO leadership priorities and national health policies, strategies and plans as well as United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF). Creating this synergy and alignment will be essential to advance WHOs organizational effectiveness and ensure WHOs relevance at country level.


PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:


To provide messenger services within the Sub-Office Office, ensuring that mail is collected and distributed in timely manner.


THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:


Under supervision of the First Level Supervisor the incumbent, will perform the assigned duties in a highly structured environment. Work is reviewed after each shift. No deviation is permitted.


The duties are, but not limited to:


1.Collects and delivers mail, from and to Registry;


2.Sorts, delivers and picks up mail from various offices on the assigned premises at regular intervals. Keeps records as required;


3.Operates photocopying and duplicating machines;


4.Patrols and maintains security of the office assigned premises and grounds, including overnight guard duties, and reports any irregularities;


5.Responds to emergencies affecting the safety of the premises and notifies supervisor;


6.Opens and closes the assigned premises;


7.Ensures proper security of rooms content in assigned premises;


8.Checks that all office machines, air conditioners, lights, etc., are turned off after working hours;


9.Controls admissions of authorized personnel and movements of WHO property into and out of the premises;


10.Monitors the overall cleanliness of assigned premises including washrooms and directs the floor cleaning personnel for appropriate action;


11.Performs a variety of unskilled tasks as a helper;


12.Keeps watch over the premises and maintains custody of keys while performing normal duties;


13.Performs other work related duties as required.

Services rendered in a timely and accurate manner.


Ensures security of rooms content in assigned premises.


All office machines, air conditioners, lights, etc., are turned off after working hours.

LANGUAGES:


Good knowledge of the local language. Sufficient knowledge of English to be able to communicate with visitors/staff.

ANNUAL SALARY:


PKR 528,876 (Total Net)
