Program Officer

The Asia Foundation is currently looking for a Program Officer for its USAID funded Gender Equity project (GEP). GEP focuses mainly on its four main objectives: Enhancing Gender Equity, Increasing Women’s Empowerment, Combating Gender-Based Violence, and Strengthening the Capacity of Pakistani Organizations.

Job Description:

Log and scrutinize proposals and subsequently finalize them with the GFOsWith support from AF counterparts, prepare regret letters for unsuccessful applicantsAssist in prepare program reports (donor and internal) as needed including weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reportsAssist SPOs by maintaining effective communication and coordination channels between GEP offices (in Islamabad and in regions)Assist SPO in preparing consultant recruitment and management processes as requiredAssist SPOs in undertaking technical evaluations of proposal applications and internal GMC and PSC approval processesNegotiate and finalize sub-grants with top contenderAssist SPOs in planning and carrying out programmatic pre-award assessment processesProvide support to civil society partners (implementing partners/sub-grantees) in enhancing their implementation capacity through supervision and guidance;As directed attend and participate in seminars, workshops, conferences, etc. relevant to work/program areas assigned;Undertake other related assignments as directed by the Team Manager GEP.

Job Specifications:

Masters in Social Sciences preferably in Women studies

At least 5 years of experience in women empowerment, gender and human rights, advocacy

Computer/other skills required:

Experience of working with INGOs in grant making, Implementation etc.Report WritingAbility to take field visits
