Pakistan: Cash Transfer Programming (CTP) Delegate, Pakistan


This is an exciting opportunity to technically lead, manage and develop the roll out and development of capacities of Cash in Emergencies preparedness within the Pakistan Red Crescent on behalf of the Red Cross Movement.


The British Red Cross are looking for a Cash Transfer Programming (CTP) Delegate with experience in Food Security and Livelihoods both its operational usages and in supporting the institutionalising of competencies in this regard, based within the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) delegation in Islamabad for a minimum of six months initially.


As the Cash Transfer Programming (CTP) Delegate, you will have knowledge of the use of cash as a means of addressing specific multi-purpose needs in both emergencies and recovery and have worked in embedding the relevant skills and competencies within a national organisation countrywide to prepare for and deliver cash. Additionally your experience within the international humanitarian sector and developing contexts, which includes management of programmes, technical development programmes and staff, will enable you to ensure that you can deliver technical and advisory support to the National Society.


You will be responsible for liaising internally within the Movement and externally both in country and regionally to ensure that the Pakistan Red Crescent is engaged and connected to the relevant cash working groups and learning platforms to support its development of cash in emergencies capabilities and development.


The ideal candidate will be educated to a postgraduate level, within a specialist technical field relevant to this assigned thematic area and within the broader field of organisational development. Your extensive experience will include:


  • Leading and developing cash based programmes and competencies through national entities and matrix management

  • Building organisational skill sets, training programmes and capacity

  • Resource and project cycle management

  • Significant experience in successfully influencing decision makers

  • Substantial experience of developing and managing technical expertise in a developing country context.
