Policy Engagement and Communication Associate

The position will be responsible for strategic planning and implementation of campaigning, communications, advocacy, outreach, media and policy work.This position will be responsible for networking (national, regional and global level) of SDPI with multiple actors (Researchers, think tanks, universities, CSOs, governments, private sector, donors, media, regional and global institutions, communities of practice, etc.)This position will be responsible to contribute in efforts for fundraising, branding and profile building of SDPIAchieve the above mentioned key objectives that set the scene for this position.Meet communications, policy advice, advocacy and outreach needs of SDPI programmesDevelop and deliver on strategies on external communication, policy advice, advocacy, knowledge dissemination and outreach and campaigningDevelop new ways in which SDPI policy advice maybe disseminated through print, electronic and social media.Develop and make sure implementation on the agreed annual work plans for each individual   unit.Serve as SDPI spokesperson and point of contact for national and international mediaBuild strong and effective working relationships with stakeholders including governments, donors, bilateral organisations, other NGOs and private sector.Represent SDPI at various national and international conferences and workshops.Work with ED on fundraising through innovative sources.Provide efficient supervision and management for all direct reportees and lead establishment and functioning of a strong, effective and coordinated team.Ensure proper implementation of SDPI’s performance management process for direct reportees.Ensure that an environment exists to allow team to develop and innovate.Oversee recruitment and induction of new team members.Deliver minimum 2 training workshops in collaboration with SDPI Centre for Capacity BuildingDevelop effective working relationships with programmes and programme support units including administration, finance, human resources, procurement, internal audit and complianceAdhere to SDPI policies/procedures and ensure staff compliance.Any other professional assignment as given by the Executive Director or his/her nomineeEducation

Master's Degree in a social science discipline, relating to Strategic Communication and Media, Politics and Public Policy, Advocacy and Outreach from HEC recognized institution.

Total Work Experience (In Yrs)

5 years of relevant work experience in the development sector at mid-senior level with national or international organisations

Sector Experience

Minimum 2 years work experience in the relevant field matching to this position, such as Communications and Quality Documentation, Strategic prepositions development, Power Analysis, Policy Outreach, Lobbying and Media Work, Campaign and Advocacy with Research, Policy, Networking, Capacity Building and Strategic Programmes Planning and Management Skills

Job Description

The Director, Technical is next to the most senior authority in the division. The scope of work includes:

Oversee operations of all offices under her/his section to ensure production efficiency, quality, and service;Review & set objectives;Periodically review activities of each office and assess performance of each; Evaluate performance of subordinates;Coach, mentor, and develop section staff;Coordinate the planning process and cycles of all the subsidiaries;Design and develop the planning criteria to be used by subsidiaries;Integrate the plans developed by individual entities into the national plan;Review and critique the plans developed by subsidiaries and ensure these plans are realistic and achievable; Lead the discussion on policy making;Draft policies and vet them with all stakeholders; Champion analysis, debate and dialogue as a foundation of policy making; Review reported data and communicate it to DG to be used in the policy making process;  Prepare projections related to capital spending;Perform other duties as assignedEducation Requirements

Masters degree in engineering, finance, economics, or related disciplineWork Experience

Review long-term and short-term plans developed by various operating subsidiaries. Design and develop statistical model using various economic, demographic, and weather data. Analyze and validate statistical models and outputs on a regular basis. Generate reports on statistical findings to assist in policy making decisions.

Job Description

The scope of work includes:

Work with power plan team to develop regression models to project long term energy sales and peak demand for Energy Resource Planning;Coordinate with power plan team in the development of least cost generation plans; Prepare reports describing the statistical data and methodology used to develop the models and future electric sales trends;Use actual weather data in the forecasting models to validate the accuracy of the forecasts;  Prepare recommendations for model improvement; Continuously provide Director, Policy and planning, updated data for proper policy formulation; Perform other duties as assigned.Education Requirements

Professional degree in engineering, finance, economics, mathematics, quantitative analysis, or related disciplineWork Experience

10 years work experience;5 years experience in statistical modeling techniques, load forecasting, mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical interference, application of concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
