Executive VAS (Islamabad)

Job Purpose:

To ensure VAS nodes availability and performance.

Job Description:

• Extraction & analysis of mobile internet related KPIs for 2G, 3G & 4G. Tracking of Vital KPIs with in depth analysis for correlation.


• Based on KPI trends, plan and execute Optimization tasks in close coordination with external teams (RNC BSCs ISP etc).


• Datacom operations related to Traffic routing, new project integration tasks, corporate clients integrations and trouble shooting.


• Basic automation for basic level of scripting to help in analysis and simplify operations.


• To ensure VAS network availability at 99.999%. Taking preventive measures to maintain it including routines and health checks.


• To co-ordinate with vendor for emergency situation handling and routine matters. To ensure that emergency plan (as provided by superior) is referred before engaging the vendor.


• To co-ordinate with NPS for new nodes integration and provide support during acceptance, commissioning and cut-over.


• To keep updated record of VAS network spares inventory, asset tagging and related stuff.


• To initiate health checks and ensure that routines for corrective and preventive maintenance are timely and precisely done and to take necessary action in case of some ambiguity found.


• To plan and ensure implementation for system upgrades and patches also co-ordinate with other departments for new requirements and plan for implementation.


• Coordinate with related other departments for day to day issue resolution and implementation of their new requirements


• Definition and implementation of automated procedures or processes to optimize the daily routines / tasks in order to get a better output in minimal time used.

Eligibility Criteria (qualification, experience and skills):

Skills – Generic:

• Works independently with little supervision


• Responsible and have proven track record of meeting the deadlines


• keen to learn new things

Skills – Job Specific:

• Developed expertise over miscellaneous system used in mobile telephony including VAS & PS domain.


• Understands industry standards.


• Sound understanding of 3G & 4G technology.


• Highly skilled in SS7 planning and routing.


• Understands the processes and standard way of execution

Qualifications/ Knowledge:

Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics/Electrical/Computer Science) or equivalent degree

Experience:

4 years of telecommunications experience related to PS/VAS. Basic understanding of Scripting and Datacom
