Inventory Officer, Multicities

Receive receipts of items purchased and enter item into the computerized inventory according to the Inventory policies and proceduresOnce items are purchased, maintain a file of requisition, canvass, Purchase Orders and receipts to support inventoryTag all fixed assets with inventory code number

Job Description:

The Operations Team requires the services of an Intern on a full-time basis to assist in their inventory-related activities. The Intern will provide support and assistance to the Operations Team members handling the project inventory in the project’s Lahore office. Work will include updating the inventory database, maintaining asset transfer records, and assisting in the overall improvement of the project’s inventory system to fix existing inefficiencies and errors in project record keeping related to the inventory.

The Intern shall use his/her education, experience, knowledge of international best practices, and additional understanding to accomplish the following:

Logistics and Inventory Officer, Islamabad - Save the Children

JOB TITLE Logistics and Inventory Officer

TEAM/PROGRAMME: Logistics

LOCATION: Islamabad

Child Safeguarding the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people

ROLE PURPOSE:

As a key member of the Logistics Team, Logistics and Inventory officer will be responsible to manage all warehouse activities within the SC program of operation and provide support, capacity building and oversight to warehouse staff in field locations. The post holder will report regularly to the Manager Operation and Logistics, to ensure effective and efficient stock management and delivery in accordance with SC and Global Fund best practice standards. The position holder will also determine SR capacity in warehouse function and accordingly built their capacity.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Manager Operation and Logistics

Dimensions: Save the Children works in over 50 districts in Pakistan with a current staff complement of approximately 2,500 staff and current expenditure of over $50 million each year.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Strategic Planning

Ensure international and nationaltransportation of freight by land, sea and air is in line with programmebudgets and needs; ensure the most cost effective and reliable means oftransport is used for the timely delivery of supplies to project sites

· Monitor stock levels and advise on appropriate stocking and replenishment to meet project demands

Innovation

Ensure each warehouse isappropriate for use, clean, well maintained and secure

Provision of Technical Assistance

Stock management procedures are in placeincluding: up to date and accurate stock records , all supporting documentsfor stock movements are in place; systems for monitoring stock movementsand regular physical stock-takes and management checksEnsure stock management and administrationsystems are implemented throughout the programme at warehouse

Representation and Networking

Liaise closelywill programmes for distribution planning and coordinate theloading/unloading of stocks in a timely and efficient manner fromwarehouse to distribution point

· Experience of building the capacity of warehouse staff through the use of training, performance management frameworks and development plans
