Job Description

Financial Reporting & General Ledger

Verifying the effects of transactions including sales, receipts into general ledger and reconciliation of differencesVerifying accuracy of inventory costing in financial databaseReconciling physical records with financial databaseMaintaining record of security deposits received and refundIdentifying and recording of financial transactionsEnsuring completion of transactions in financial database at period-endPreparing segment reports as per management requirementsPreparing and verifying bank reconciliationsAssisting in preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and allied schedules in accordance with the requirements of the Companies ordinance, 1984 and financial reporting standards

Fixed Asset Management

Processing payments of Contracts/Purchase Orders regarding property, plant and equipment.Reconciliation of payable accounts and commitments.Clearing of shipments -imports against LC’s & payments processingCapitalization of assets at commissioned retail outlets & others assetsPreparation of various Fixed Assets ReportsPreparation of related disclosure in the quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with requirements of the Companies ordinance, 1984 and financial reporting standards.

Direct and indirect taxation (corporate)

Understanding of taxation laws including income tax ordinance 2001, sales tax act 1990 and provincial tax lawsUnderstanding of federal excise lawKnowledge of withholding tax, filling of income tax return under income tax ordinance and sales tax act,Knowledge of import and exports under custom Laws.

Company Secretarial Matters

Job Requirements

ACMA / CA (Inter) / ACCA/ CSMinimum of 2-4 years relevant experience in any listed or public limited company. Job Summary & Specific Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Assistant Manager Accounts will be responsible for relating to financial reporting, but not limited to the following.

Specific Responsibilities:

Financial and Accounting Management

Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.Supervise financial transactions on day to day basis.Reconcile bank account and investment statements on monthly basis.Manage payroll & benefits.Manage contracts with consultants and service providers and ensure payments match contracted amounts.Ensure maintenance of effective internal controls to safeguard assets and assure reliability of financial statements.Ensure filing of periodic returns (Withholding Tax, Sales Tax etc.) with concerned authorities; manage / renew ASF’s tax exemption under different section of Income Tax ordinance and Rules.Prepare Statutory Financial Statements of the company (Accounts) on regular basis.Prepare accounts of ASF Employees’ Provident Fund and Gratuity Fund on regular basis.Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the Senior Manager Accounts / Manager Accounts.

Qualifications / Experience

CA inter/MBA (Finance).Minimum 3 years' experience related to the above duties and responsibilities, out of which 1 years’ experience should be in a similar role, preferably in development sector. Thorough working knowledge of regulations and procedures of international donors is required. Experience of working with International NGOs, donor agencies, or other reputed international development organizations will be a plusThe ideal candidate will have experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination.Ability to translate financial concepts to - and to effectively collaborate with  programmatic colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds.Previous experience and knowledge of using accounting and reporting software.Knowledge Income Tax Ordinance 2001, and other relevant frameworks and laws.Computer literacy with demonstrated use of word processing, database and presentation software (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.).Excellent writing and communications skills in English.Ability to assume leadership role and independently manage the activities of Finance & Accounting department on day to day basis.

- The applicant must have good command on Microsoft Office.
