Senior Food Security & Livelihoods Coordinator, Peshawar - Save the Children

Job Description

· Overall management of the Livelihoods Program and associated livelihoods staff.

· Ensure the implementation of Livelihood activities is well undertaken. Activities could include inputs such as agricultural or small business support, cash or voucher transfer and Cash for Work.

· The Sr. LC will be responsible for work-planning and implementation for the range of livelihoods functions.

· The Sr. LC will be required to oversee livelihoods budget and ensure adherence to SC minimum standards in financial accountability.

· The Sr. LC should ensure that livelihoods programmes are coherent and well integrated with other sectoral activities.

· The Sr. LC will be responsible for the management of SC and partner staff working on livelihoods

· programme. He/ She will be required to undertake team work planning, and manage staff through regular 1:1?s to ensure that the programme is maximizing the capacity of all staff and that arising issues are addressed early.

· Identify Livelihood opportunities and develop programme for future.

· Submit required and routine reports.

· Preparing project related narrative, financial and other type of reports.

· Support the development of livelihoods case studies and other presentations for communication as required.

· Assist in preparing of projects proposals for different donors.

· Ensure the livelihoods programme is well coordinated at district level. Demonstrate pro-activity to manage coordination and attend routine official meetings as requested by the Field Programme Manager.

Requirements

· Masters in development studies, agriculture or any related discipline.

· Total Work Experience (In Yrs) 5-6 years.

· Sector Experience (In Yrs) 4 years.

· Demonstrated experience working on complex operations in an emergency

· Good computer literacy, excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Good understanding of Livelihoods concepts and excellent monitoring skills

Job Type:                                Special Service Contract (SSA)Duration:                                 Seven MonthsUnder the guidance and direct supervision of the Provincial Coordination Officer (PCO), the Admin/Finance Assistant (AFA) provides functional leadership in human resource, administrative, and financial systems of the Provincial Coordination Team (PCT).He/she delivers quality services in HR, administration and finance to internal and external clients mastering all relevant rules, guidelines, processes and procedures. He/she takes a client-oriented, results-focused approach to interpreting the rules, procedures and guidelines in service of the Country Programme, providing support and guidance to the PCT and UNFPA-supported Programme activities.Results-Oriented Functional Statement:-Follows processes and procedures, anticipates and manages operational requirements of Programme inputs under provincial execution in terms of personnel, equipment, and other Programme activities and related events to facilitate Programme delivery.Ensures financial reporting in accordance with UNFPA financial rules and procedures. Manages PCT Petty cash in accordance with corporate/Country Office (CO) rules. Improves internal controls and efficiency. Takes preventive and remedial steps to rectify audit observations.Supports and monitors the financial performance, if requested, of NEX Programme funds in his/her province. Identifies potential over/under expenditure and suggests remedial action.Implements corporate systems and applications in support of finance and human resource management relevant to PCT operations; maintains continuous and accurate/up-dated flow of information, financially and administratively, between PCT and the Country Office.Reviews procurement requests and works with the PCO and CO Operations to initiate local procurement in PCT’s domain for equipment, supplies, and services cost-effectively and transparently. Maintains updated inventory record. Contributes to the smooth running of the office and Programme implementation.Provides any other administrative, financial or secretarial support, as required by the PCO and/or the CO. Facilitates PCO by arranging appointments and meetings.Independently gathers, analyses and interprets data and information from a wide range of sources using appropriate analytical tools and professional standards. Identifies warning signs based on financial analysis, probes for clarification or points of concern and presents findingsEstablishes effective relationships with internal and external clients, actively supports the interests of the client and researches potential solutions to client needs. Organizes and prioritizes work schedule and addresses client needs and deadlines promptly and diplomaticallyImplementing management systems:Maintains information/databases on system design features and develops system components. Adminsitrative Assistant, Peshawar - United Nations Pakistan

UNDER THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF THE SR. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, THE INCUMBENT WILL BE REPSONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING DUTIES:

Ø Act as focal point for operational offices and Hubs/EDPs to

o provide consistent administrative support from Provincial Office,

o assist them compile their requirements for their offices/hubs, and

o review payment requests and attachments received from field and submit to Finance for payments;

Ø Assist in organizing trainings and workshops by coordinating with requesting units and ensure receipt of quality and timely services; coordinate with hotels/guest houses to arrange for the requirements of events well in time;

Ø Liaise with the Guest House Management, Admin. and Security Units and responsible for

o reservations,

oconducting spot checks for cleanliness and working condition of

equipments,

o preparation of invoices for the guests and submit report to Finance,

o preparation of monthly statement of Guest House receipts, and

o providing updates on the progress of civil works at Guest House;

Ø Assist in arrangement for printing material such as staff visiting cards, ration cards and other materials for programme activities;

Ø Act as an alternate for Admin. colleagues during their absence to backstop their relevant areas of work;

Ø Perform any other relevant duty as and when assigned.

Required Skills

Training and/or experience utilising computers, including word processing, spreadsheet and other WFP standard software packages and systems. General knowledge of UN system administrative policies, rules, regulations and procedures in the area of administration.
Formal training in administration. Knowledge of WFP administrative manuals in the area of finance, budget, human resources, transport, procurement or travel.
