Warehouse Assistant

Assist Warehouse Manager to ensure proper and safe custody (storage) of all food commodities entrusted to the care of World Vision by donors. Ensure that all documentation of commodity transitions in the warehouse is in place.·         Ensures that all commodities entrusted to World Vision arriving at the warehouse and leaving the warehouse are properly accounted for.·         Ensure that proper logistic arrangements are always in place so that projects will run smoothly without avoidable commodity stock shortages in the warehouse.·         Ensure that warehouse best practices, standards are maintained at all times as guided by WV Commodity manual standards this includes but not limited to maintaining FIFO instead of LIFO unless there is reasonable grounds, proper stacking, adequate warehouse equipment etc·         Responsible to ensure that all the warehouse records including Ledger books, stack cards and stock control sheets are accurately filled and updated. Quantities recorded on these documents MUST correspond to the daily physical stock in the warehouse.·         Establish and maintain proper logistics coordination with WFP, USAID, FAO other donors’ logistics departments·         Provide required periodic warehouse reports( daily ,weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual report)·         Develops zero tolerance loss of commodities in the warehouse.·         Establish professional systems of managing warehouse staff and casual staff in the warehouse·         Dedication and ability to work with little supervision.·         Willingness to learn and to build capacity of others·         Good command of oral and written English a must.·         Dedication and ability to work with little supervision·         Minimum of Diploma in Storekeeping, Logistics, Warehouse Management.·         3 year of working experience in a warehouse.
