Pakistan: Project Specialist Food Fortification Program Associate (18 months contract)

The Project Specialist Food Fortification Program Associate will work in the fortification team to support the delivery of USAID funded Regional Fortification Project that aims at supporting the Wheat Flour and Edible Oil Industry to export fortified Wheat Flour and Edible Oil/Ghee. He/she will manage the execution of project activities in the respective regions whilst ensuring that all project activities are delivered according to the set targets and implementation timeframe by the fortification team. Moreover, he/she will be responsible for coordinating between country team and the communication agency for implementing the communications strategy and associated reporting. As required, the Project Specialist Food Fortification Program Associate will represent GAIN at project review meetings with the government and donor, technical groups and seminars / conferences and facilitating alignment with key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have solid work experience in the development sector, preferably nutrition programs. Moreover, he/she will have solid experience in developing and managing project in a multi-cultural environment and has successfully managed multi-disciplinary implementing partners. A strong understanding of public health issues and Government priorities is desirable. Further, the ideal candidate will be fluent in written and verbal English, Urdu and Pashto.
