Project Summary:
In June 2011, MSI was awarded a contract by USAID to provide monitoring, verification and evaluation services to USAID covering USAID-supported programs throughout Pakistan. The goal of the Monitoring and Evaluation Program (MEP) is to assess whether USAID resources are well-spent and achieving desired results and to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse in the administration of programs, regardless of the implementation mechanism.
Position Summary:
MSI will be conducting a study to identify and examine barriers to reading in Pakistani culture and identify opportunities to strengthen reading skills and habits across different regional, gender, age, and language divides. The results of the study are intended to inform future USAID/Pakistan education and reading programing. MSI will hire two Data Collection Supervisors for the study to oversee and ensure the quality of every step of the data collection process. Prior to data collection, supervisors will assist MEP staff in preparing for data collection activities and support survey administration training sessions. During data collection, the supervisors will ensure that survey questions are asked properly, are easy to comprehend for respondents, are asked in the correct order, wording is consistent, there are no leading gestures that could impact respondents’ answers, etc. The supervisors will also participate in debriefing sessions with MEP staff and support and supervise the data entry and data cleaning processes.

Responsibilities:
Participate in and provide assistance for training sessions on standardized administration of the survey.Oversee and help to organize the administration of the data collection instruments.Ensure compliance with standardized procedures and protocols for the administration of the survey questionnaire.Oversee and ensure the performance of enumerators.Regularly update MEP staff and study team members on the status of data collection.Report any problems related to data collection to MEP staff and study team members.Participate in debriefing meetings with MEP staff and study team members.Qualifications:
A master’s degree in social science research, international development, or related field required.A minimum of 8 years of experience in international development or social science research in Pakistan.Experience supervising/managing research surveys.Experience working on education sector development projects in Pakistan required.Experience working on USAID-funded projects in Pakistan preferred.Fluent in English and Urdu.Only candidates who have been selected for an interview will be contacted.
