Child Protection Officer

Job Description:

• Assist in organizing and mobilizing  the communities to play an effective role in promoting and protecting the rights of the child
• Assist the CP Coordinator/CP Officer in implementing project activities through active participation of children and target communities
• Assist in the identification and training of community volunteers in the target communities as well as to supervise their work in the community
• Assist in identification and verification of most vulnerable families and children in the affected communities and ensuring their participation in development activities
• Responsible for promoting children's rights in the communities with special reference to children rights to protection ,education, participation  and non-this crimination at the community level
• Organize different outreach awareness program for children and others duty barriers.
• Assist in facilitating and organizing training for community members and community volunteers
• Assist in conducting needs assessment in the targets and surrounding communities specially the children, with in to implement program activities
• With support from community organizations develop village profiles and collect information on various aspects in the target village for program  development and effective implementation
• Compile monthly progress reports on various project activities and submit the same to CP coordinator for preparing the consolidated progress reports for WVI and its donors
• Report on the effect of CFS project on lives of children and their families

• Assist in organizing community self help activities and provide guidance for self –help activities in the target area to carry out other tasks as and when assigned by the CP Coordinator  on behalf of the organization    
• Gender - Supported by the Gender, Advocacy, Media and Communications team and PME, ensure gender is mainstreamed into all program, partnership, advocacy and campaigning activities of the Girls' Education team, Activating the committees and networks in protecting the rights of girls and boys by ensuring their survival and development and protection rights.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:
• MA/MSc with B.Ed.
• Master in Education/Teacher Education is desirable

Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
• Diverse work experience with National/International well reputed organizations is desirable

Skills:
• Good communication skills both verbal and written in Pashto, English and Urdu
• Ability to engage with children and youth
• Good report writing skills
• Proficient in MS Office (MS Word, Power Point and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ready to take initiatives and work with in pressure
• Coordination and team building skills
• Demonstrates strong conflict management skills
• Good understanding of cultural and religious customs and practices in the area of operations
• Knowledge of CRC, INEE Minimum Standards and Sphere standards
