Security Coordinator

We are an International Organization (INGO) working in the field of elections, democracy and governance in collaboration with government institutions and civil society in support of electoral reforms in Pakistan. We are currently seeking committed and energetic staff for the above position. Detailed scope of work with required skills and qualifications are summarized below:

Duties and responsibilities:

Responsible for the implementation of the organizations security plan, including protocols and procedures;Perform periodic reassessment of and required updates to security plan;Liaise with supervisor of local security provider and provide general oversight and assessment of the performance of local security provider and guards at office and residences of expatriate staff;Provide weekly reports on the evolving general security climate in Pakistan and Islamabad specifically;Develop and maintain effective communications protocols with public security agencies and other NGO security representatives for information exchange and advice;Provide advice to management on alert levels based on current security situation;Provide incident and security specific reports to management;Contactable 24/7 to provide security advice and coordination during incidents or emergencies;Conduct threat assessments of localities and routes frequented by staff and offer security advice;Conduct risk assessment for all journeys outside of Islamabad or whenever required/requested;May be required to travel in country to conduct security assessment of potential venues for meetings, trainings and temporary staff accommodation;Provide appropriate security training to staff and create awareness of security plan to ensure understanding by all staff;Maintain a communication tree for all staff;Responsible for the maintenance of all security and fire fighting material and equipment;Provide security brief to all staff on a regular basis and in particular to new staff, as well as periodic trainings and drills;Head the organization’s Security Committee, provide agenda and circulate minutes;Assist the Procurement & Logistics Officer in procurement and logistic tasks as required;Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educationMinimum of five (5) years of experience in security management / handling of security issues in INGO/UNClear understanding of all issues related to safety and security; Good understanding of geographical, social, historical and political context of PakistanStrong organizational and supervisory skills, flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks at one timeGood communication skills (written, spoken in Urdu and English and other local language will be an added advantage).Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office, E-mail, Internet) and Multi-taskingAbility to work in pressure situations, including risky or life threatening situations.
