Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe / Diakonie Emergency Aid is a German non-governmental organisation providing worldwide humanitarian aid. Diakonie has been working in Pakistan since the earthquake in 2005. Having implemented relief, recovery and rehabilitation operations in Kashmir (AJK) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe has also provided emergency relief operations in KPK and Punjab after the devastating floods in Pakistan of last July. For our early recovery and rehabilitation programme we are seeking  Regional Manager (for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ).

1.       Work Context

Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe is increasing the number of Projects of several Sectors in KPK and Punjab. The increase of Projects and Activities implicates a rise of coordination tasks and efforts.

To ensure the best possible results of DKHs Projects Logistics, Security, Finance, Administration, and Procurement need to work closely together to ensure a good facilitation of the Program Activities.

The Role of the Regional Manager is to coordinate and manage all these operational activities.

2.       Main Tasks

Management of all Operations in the Region Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for ensuring  smooth cooperation between all Functions (Programs, Logistics, Security, Finance & Admin, Procurement) and facilitating the implementation of all Projects of the Region.

The regional Manager is in charge of managing the DKH Compound in Peshawar, the Staff and the whole Office.

The Regional Manager is representing DKH to the local authorities (unless it is a technical representation)

The Regional Manager reports directly to the DKH Program Manager Pakistan based in Country Office in Islamabad.

The Regional Manager works closely with the Department Managers in the DKH Country office (Finance & Administration and Logistics & Security) in Islamabad to ensure the adherence of the several procedures and guidelines.

3.       Education:

University Degree in Business/Administration, Management or Social Sciences4.       Job Experience:15 years of working experienceAt least 7 years of experience in working with INGOsAt least 10 years of experience in a leadership roleExperience in working in Logistics and Operations including procurement.Experience in Compound Management (including Office Management, Fleet Management, Security Management)5.       Knowledge and Skills: Suitable applicants for this position would possess:Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clear, concise reportsFluency in English (oral and written).Excellent  organizational skills, strong analytical skills especially with regard to interpreting the  local  security situation, the political context and the impact both might have on operationsStrong leadership skills demonstrated by past experience of leading diverse teams towards a common goal.Competent user of Microsoft Office tools especially MS Word, Excel
