Program/MIS Officer, Islamabad - Save the Children

ROLE PURPOSE:

The post holder is responsible for supporting the senior project management in implementation of the project activities in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders including the Co-PR, Departments of Health and SRs. The position bears the key responsibilities of supervision, monitoring, evaluation and reporting and will be required to provide timely progress reports as well as technical and financial reports to the Manager GFATM R-10. The officer will also be responsible to facilitate management information system including designing, testing and implementing user friendly systems of data management and program reporting.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Manager GFATM R-10

Dimensions: Save the Children works in over 50 districts in Pakistan with a current staff complement of approximately 2,500 staff and current expenditure of over $50 million each year.

Staff directly reporting to this post:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

· Support plans to monitor the progress of the project activities with a focus on quality and required scale/targets of the activities and related financial status according to project plans

· Assist relevant staff to plan, design, implement and monitor the ongoing activities for smooth coordination, collaboration, and partnership with SRs at the field level

· Ensure regular project reports (PUDR) are prepared and submitted within required time scales. Also produce and keep updated record of necessary reports, presentation, publication and other materials

· Attend periodic coordination meetings with SRs to share ideas and update progress, share field experience, opportunities and constraints as requested and required.

· Work in collaboration with other team members/SRs to ensure that the program is appropriately implemented to meet the needs of the target beneficiaries and in accordance with GFATM guidelines.

· Assist the implementing partners/SRs to develop work plans as per the project proposals

· Assist the organization and facilitation of national level dissemination workshops, technical consultative meetings, and programme review meetings for evaluation of program activities as required.

· Under the guidance of MIS Specialist, develop program MIS and support the MIS users in software related matters.

· Support the Manager GFATM R-10 in program data base management to generate required reports.

· Conduct field MIS support visits to target districts if required.

· Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

· Masters Degree in Social Sciences/Computer Sciences/IT.

· 3-5 years experience of working in the public health

· Experience and knowledge of effective financial and budgetary control and managing grants.

· Proven skills in coordinating and supporting national level events/workshops.

· In-depth understanding of national and international development issues related to the thematic programme.

· Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

· Adequate skills in Microsoft Office including Visio, Project, HTML, CSS, Javascript and others to support MIS requirements of the program

· Fluency in written and spoken English.

· Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children?s aims, values and principles.

· Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as assigned
