Job Type: National Project Personnel (NPP)Minimum Experience: 3 Years(Experience of using different procedures of PCR and other laboratory techniques for the diagnosis of animal diseases particularly FMD)Within the framework of the project GCP/PAK/123/USA - “Progressive Control of Foot and Mouth Disease in Pakistan”, under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative (FAOR) in Pakistan, guidance of the Project Coordinator, direct supervision of the National Project Director and Director General National Veterinary Laboratories, and in close collaboration with the FAO Representative, the Laboratory Technologist (PCR) will be responsible for the following activities:
Receive,maintain and process samples for laboratory analysis using variousprocedures of PCRDevelopdata base of all samples received with details as provided with eachsample.Maintenanceof all equipment being used in the laboratoryDevelopmentand display of all SOPs being used in the laboratoryTake partin field activities for the investigation of FMD outbreaks as and whenrequiredProvideassistance in analysis/interpretation of results and development ofreportsFollowproficiency testing protocols to ensure accuracy in laboratory proceduresAny otherduty as assigned by the Project Management Required SkillsMust have basic knowledge of computer especially MS Office. The incumbent must be fluent and proficient in English (spoken and written).
