Agriculture Trainer

The Agriculture & Livestock Trainer, with the guidance and support of the Project Coordinator, extends technical support to the farmers and community members through trainings follow up and field based input.  The prime responsibility of the Trainer is the capacity building of farmers and community members and creating a safe learning environment in field through implementation of the project activities keeping in view World Vision’s mission and principles

Undertake training need assessment of farmers and other stakeholders.Design training material/manuals and conduct trainings in close coordination with district Agriculture and other concerned departments.Design and implement training follow up mechanism and ensure need based support and guidance to the farmers and other beneficiaries.Develop low/no cost teaching aids by involving educated farmers and community at field level.Write reports according to the project and donor requirementsProduce success stories/case studies and share with communication section through concerned supervisor.Orient the concerned beneficiaries on project goal, objectives and targetAssist the other Livelihood staff in conducting need assessment, Beneficiary selection, Distributions etc.Maintain updated record of concerned activities.Maintain close coordination with district Agriculture department, Food & Agriculture Clusters/Early Recovery Working Groups by attending meetings, sharing progress and information through concerned supervisor and as per WVI’s policies and procedures.Contribute in short/long term plans, conducting need assessments and developing concept notes.Submit monthly, weekly and daily work plan to the concern supervisor on regular basis.Any Task given by supervisor.Completes tasks in a timely, cost effective mannerStays committed to outcomes despite obstaclesSolves routine and non-routine workplace problems quickly and efficientlyCoordinates continuous improvement processesDemonstrates personal integrity and trustworthinessMaximizes use of resources to achieve outputs and meet or exceed required standardsDemonstrates and advocates awareness and compliance to WV or professional standards when working with all WV resourcesIdentifies gaps, trends, priorities and key issuesDevelops advanced proposals in sectorLeads effective long and short term planningEnsures that effort is focused on priority areasEncourages strong cooperation within teamDeals with conflict to bring co-operationResolves conflict positively and openlyDevelops personal networks of effective relationships with external stakeholders, including other NGO’s, donors, government representatives, multilateral agencies and academia

 Education:

MSc/BSc (H) in Agriculture preferably in Agronomy.

Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience

Diverse work experience with National/International well reputed organizations is desirable.

Good communication skills both verbal and written in English and UrduCan communicate in local languagesGood report writing skillsAble to design training material/manuals and conduct trainings to the diverse stakeholdersProficient in MS Office (MS Word, Power Point and Excel)Informed of CRC and INEE Minimum Standards in emergencies and chronic crisesStrong interpersonal skillsReady to take initiatives and willing to work later hours and on weekends during emergencies and genuine need basisCoordination and team building sillsDemonstrates strong conflict management skills.
