GENDER MONITOR

The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) is an institution of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Established by the Aga Khan Foundation in 1982, AKRSP has been working in Federally Administered Gilgit Baltistan and district Chitral of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa in the field of integrated rural development with the mission to promote inclusive human development and eradicate extreme poverty.

AKRSP has recently received funding from USAID for implementation of a five-year Satpara Development Project. In order to implement the project we are looking for some suitable candidates to fill in the vacant positions. In this regard applications are invited from competent professionals to fill in the position of Gender Monitor based at our Regional Programme Office, Skardu.

Job Purpose:

Ensure gender balance in all project activities and provide guidance to project staff on gender equity and equality

Experience required:

Over 5 years of relevant experience preferably in development sector with a focus on Gender and Development.

Job Description:

Ensure that gender issues are considered in project activitiesEnsure that adequate attention is paid to gender in conducting all surveys, collection and analysis of demographic, physical, economic, and financial dataEnsure that gender-disaggregated analysis is conducted in preparing plans and reportsConduct on-the-job site inspections and furnish periodic progress reports on gender related issues and recommend course correction Prepare inventory of existing community and farmer groups in the project area and men’s and women’s roles in each, including women’s organizationsWork with community members and other project team members to determine priorities and project activities.Develop a strategy for staff training in gender and identifying community training needs Ensure that both women and men are involved in key project decisions, such as the choice of technology, service levels, arrangements for operation and maintenance, and cost recovery mechanismAssist M&E staff in developing and implementing gender- sensitive M&E systems
